We all know prank calls to emergency services not only wastes operators' time but may cost lives too. According to Telstra's emergency service answer point manager over 50% of the calls in one month to 000 warranted a connection to emergency services. Apparently, one individual called to ask how long it takes to bake a chocolate cake and another on who won the election. One old lady calls every morning to find out what day it is.
